On Saturday, January 25, 2014, a special meeting of Central Lodge #442 F&AM was held to conduct a graduation ceremony for our six Dyslexia graduates. One hundred and three people enjoyed the fine meal prepared by Worshipful Master Luther Perkins and other members. Afterward, everyone adjourned upstairs for the ceremonies. After the Grand Lodge officers, RWB Earl Duran, Deputy Grand Master, RWB Ben Melanson, DDGM for the 13th Masonic District and MWB Harold Ballard, GM 2005 were inducted, the students put on a wonderful program showing how they have improved since they began the dyslexia program.
The main speaker for the night was Mr. Hunter Gerald, who is a graduate of our first Dyslexia class, college graduate, and businessman.
RWB Duran, Brother Ted Powell, Chairman of Central Lodge Dyslexia Committee, Brother Ronald Bailey, WM of Trinity Union Lodge # 372 and MWB Harold Ballard presented each student with a series of certificates, trophies, and cash rewards.
The class teacher, Ms. Cindy Kahao, was presented with a cash award by MWB Ballard for Central Lodge.
