CENTRAL GIRLS BOWLING WINS JAMBOREE

After not fielding a team for two years, Central High blew the dust off and rolled out an old varsity team this past Wednesday (1-15-14).  Central Girls Bowling was back in action against Redemptorist in a very competitive match to get both teams ready for the regular season.

Central would open up a 5-3 lead (701-592 Total Pins) in Game 1 behind some solid bowling of Sarah LeDuff (Sophomore) with a 195 and Haley Young’s (Junior) 168.  Redemptorist would even up the match after Game 2 with a 5-3 (728-684) victory.  Young and Kaylee Robinson (Sophomore) would lead the Wildcats with a 160 each.  Central would save their best for last and runaway with the match in Game 3.  Central would take Game 3 7-1 and 791-523.  Once again, Young led the way with a 179 and was followed by LeDuff’s 168.

Overall, Central would win their first match in over 2 years by the final score of 18-9 and 2176-1843.  Young would lead the Wildcats with a 507 series, followed closely behind by LeDuff’s 495.  Central’s 1-2 punch of Young & LeDuff is one of the best in not only Baton Rouge, but in Louisiana.  And while the rest of the team is young and new, these Wildcats are ready to follow in the Boys Team’s footsteps of a year ago and bring home a District Title.  Central’s road to their first District Title starts on January 22nd (Wednesday) against 4-Time State Champion Denham Springs at All Star Lanes at 3:15PM.  Come support your Wildcats!
