Local History Program Thursday

By  |
This Thursday, January 23, at 7:00 pm Richard Venable will be presenting a free program on the history of Greenwell Springs/Central.  He will be covering early Native American habitation and events like the Civil War and others that occurred  in the area.  He will be doing a slide show and will be bringing artifacts as well.
Richard was a good friend of the late Dr. Jesse Fairchild, noted local historian and author, and grew up in Greenwell Springs.  His knowledge is considerable.  This should make for a very informative and interesting evening. There will be a question and answer period as well.
The event will be held at Central Perk on Sullivan Road.  It is sponsored by the Central Cultural Foundation, one of whose stated goals is to seek to preserve the history of our unique area and to educate the public as well.
