Central Christmas Parade to Roll Down Joor

By  |
On Thursday night, December 5th at 7pm, we will have the lighting of the “Community Christmas Tree” along with a spectacular concert to kick off the “Christmas in Central” season.  A 27 year tradition continues in Central with the “Christmas in Central Parade” starting at 10am Saturday morning, December 7th.  Prior to the parade, the “Running of the Elves” fun run, will take place at 9:15am.
After the tremendous success of last year’s parade route down Joor Road, we will once again use this route.  Starting at 9am Saturday, December 7th, Joor Road will be closed between Hooper Road and Lovett Road till the parade route has been cleared.  Hooper Road and Lovett Road will remain open.
Overall, safety of our citizens, the parade participants and attendees has to stay at the forefront of what we do.  Joor Road has 4 lanes, a turning lane, and shoulders as well.  This is a tremendous advantage from a safety stand point.  This route allows for crowds to watch the parade without having to stand in steep ditches or crowd next to moving floats as they did on the narrow Hooper Road. This enables emergency vehicles to have the ability to move up and down the route without having to drive in the ditch. Therefore, please do not park on the shoulder of the road or unfortunately your vehicle will be towed.
If you have questions, please call the office and above all, come out on Saturday, December 7th, and enjoy the many floats, bands, marchers, dancers and the arrival of Santa! Have a Merry Christmas Season!
Thanks,
