Central won their sixth consecutive district championship last Friday when they defeated the Live Oak Eagles 33-13 at home on Senior Night.
Quarterback Jarrad Hayes opened up the scoring for the Wildcats with a 60 yard touchdown passing play to Gary Triplett.  Live Oak responded in the second quarter with a short run for a touchdown, and they would not score again until the fourth quarter.
Running back Jake Myer ran in two touchdowns in the second quarter and two more in the third, putting up an impressive 160 yards during the game.
The Wildcat defense was steady as always, totaling 41 tackles, 1 sack, and 3 tackles for loss.  Kevin Henry and Malik Odum each grabbed an interception against the Eagles.
Central will face Comeaux this Friday, and the winner of that game will play the winner of Denham Springs vs West Monroe next week.
Central Hosting Playoff vs Comeaux
The #11 Wildcats will host #22 Comeaux in the first round of the LHSAA playoffs this Friday at 7PM in Wildcat Stadium.  Of their opponent, Head Coach Sid Edwards said, “Comeaux is the second best team we will have faced this season, in my opinion, behind Scotlandville.   They are Denham Springs up front but McKinley in the skill positions.  Their losses have come to highly touted Breaux Bridge, Barbe, New Iberia, and lost to number 1 Acadiana 27 to 24 in the final seconds.  We have our hands full.”  Tickets may be purchased in advance at the CHS office for $8, or at the gate Friday night for $10.  No passes are accepted for playoff games.
