            During the month of October2013 in the city of Central, a total of 22 new residential permits were issued.  The total valuation of these permits was $4,666,550.

            Within these permits, ten were issued in Woodstock with an average valuation of $218,902; four in Burlington Lakes with an average valuation of $167,319; one on Indian Mound valued at $191,436; one in Sherrington Place valued at $211,198; one in Gates at Burlington valued at $140,106; and one in Village at Magnolia Square valued at $254,266; one on Hwy 64 valued at $241,100; one on Greenwell Springs Rd valued at $252,776; one on Hubbs Rd valued at $298,080; and one in Morgan Place West valued at $219,326.

            Building valuation is the price based upon the square footage of the home used for permitting purposes.  The actual selling price of the home is usually higher than the valuation and depends upon amenities installed by the builder.

            On the commercial side, a 1275 sq. ft. remodeling permit was issued at Baton Rouge Community College on Hooper Rd in the valuation amount of $9,976; a 1600 sq. ft remodeling permit in Central City Shopping Center on Hooper valued at $10,907; a 184,450 sq. ft. remodeling permit for Walmart valued at $500,000; a 5,918 sq. ft planned addition to Cornerstone Fellowship Church; and a 5106 sq. ft. new building permit at 18901 Greenwell Springs Rd for Rogers Regional Eye Center valued at $418,692.
