In Memoriam: Lewis Carroll Hill

    Lewis Carroll Hill, a resident of Baton Rouge died on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the age of 93. He was born in Watson, LA on November 9, 1919 to Silas Elisha and Willie Leola Carroll Hill. A graduate of LSU, he began his 38 year career with Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service as an assistant county agent and later an associate county agent in Acadia Parish, working with the 4-H Livestock program and area farmers. In 1955, he was promoted to Rice Specialist and served the rice producing areas of the state from the Baton Rouge office until his retirement in 1982. He was a charter member of St. John's Methodist Church in Baton Rouge and a Mason.
    Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, 9995 Hooper Road, Central, LA 70818 on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
    He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ida Marie Hains Hill; two sons, Allen and wife Janie (Blake) Hill of Greenwell Springs and John and wife Linda (Shelton) Hill of Denham Springs; two grandchildren, Andrew Hill and fiancee' Jill Kraemer of Lafayette and Tanya Hill and husband Mark Nienaber of Denham Springs as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
    Lewis was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Virginia, Alice, Silas Jahu and George Percy Hill. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, 9375 Highland Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70810. Please visit our online registry book at www.sealefuneral.com
