Three Tax Renewals Pass

Last Saturday, all three tax renewals on the ballot passed. Each of the three taxes are 10-year renewals of existing property taxes. Your current millage rates will remain the same. The taxes support EBR EMS (passed 81.24% to 18.76%), EBR Sheriff (passed 78.52% to 21.48%), and Central Fire Protection District #6 (passed 84.6% to 15.4%). Voter turnout for this election was very low, with a little over 6% voting in the two parish-wide votes, and 9.8% for the Central Fire Protection District vote.
