Letter to the Editor

By  |

I am writing this letter to clear up some confusion and set the record straight.  A recent newspaper article in the Central City News incorrectly stated that I resigned as Chairman from the Planning and Zoning Commission.  Since this article, I have been asked by several people if I had resigned due to pressure or because I was mad or aggravated with Central politics.  The answer is no, I have considered it an honor to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission since the incorporation of our City in 2005.  I have had the privilege to serve with a number of dedicated citizens who all have nothing but the best interest of our community at heart.  I served two four-year terms; my second term expired last month.  I decided not to reapply due to business commitments which have begun to conflict with my duties as a commission member.  I will continue to serve on the City Center Selection Committee and will be involved in the completion of our zoning map and new zoning code. I will continue to be involved in our great City as time permits and will always be willing to assist our Mayor and City Council when asked.  Like many of you, I feel the back biting and divisions in our community are somewhat disheartening at times, but I have no intention of getting mad and quitting.  Central is a great place to live and raise a family and I look forward to the continued success of our City and School System.

Respectfully,

Rodney J. Bonvillain
