CFD Hosts Fire Inspector Class

    The Central Fire Department and Louisiana State University Fire & Emergency Training Institute joined forces to present a Fire Inspector 1 class February 25th –March 1st. Students from Central, Zachary, East Side and Baton Rouge Fire Departments participated in the class. 
    The Louisiana State Fire Marshall’s Office will certify students as State Inspectors once they successfully complete the training.  As these students are certified, they will be able to inspect businesses in their fire district for fire and life safety hazards based on National Fire Protection Association standards. Central Fire Chief Bill Porche stated that having these additional certified inspectors adds a tremendous safety factor for all involved communities.
