Gospel Poem

God created man from the dust of the ground.
The tree God said don’t eat from – he had found.
Man was perfect with his free will
Until Adam disobeyed and his soul he did kill.
Sin came into the world by only one man.
Death and disease infected the earth but God had a plan.
A plan before the world began.
I will send someone to save man from their sin.
Who could it be? Who would God usher in?
Thousands of years men of faith waited on the word of God.
Prophets of ole foretold of the promise as they did trod.
Isaiah spake of a savior born of a virgin,
Seven hundred years before it did happen.
Daniel prophesied of his amazing entrance,
The exact day he would ride in Jerusalem as Messiah the Prince.
Who could it be? Who would God usher in?
A child born of royalty, raised in a mansion?
A man 9 feet tall adored by men?
An earthly king riding on a stallion?
Who would God send, it couldn’t be just anyone?
It had to be his only begotten son.
To the earth he came leaving the glories of heaven,
Not of man’s seed but born of a virgin.
A long way from a mansion in a manger he lay.
Jesus, the son of God, in a stable on his birthday.
Not tall nor adored by men,
No beauty that we should desire him.
Yet perfect and without sin only he could save.
For God so loved the world his only son he gave.
But the wages of sin is death,
Man would have to pay for it with his last breath.
Death for sin doesn’t help man in the end.
But God stepped in – with his marvelous grace,
His son whom he had sent would take our place.
Our place in death he would take;
Pride, lust, and greed would he brake.
Innocent and flawless all the way to the cross:
To shed his blood, to give his life, to save that which was lost.
The Lamb of God died that we might live.
The baby born in a manger his life he did give.
From the manger, to the cross, to the grave
On the third day he came out of deaths cave.
The resurrection and the life,
The King of kings and Lord of lords – his name is Jesus Christ
It is he whom God hath sent
Have faith in him and REPENT!
Deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow after Jesus.
He’s the way, the truth, the life – no other could redeem us.
May your new year be as spicy as cayenne pepper.
