During the annual Central Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 1, 2012, there will be NO PARKING allowed on the shoulder of Joor Rd between Hooper Rd and Lovett Rd.  This is the new route for the parade.  Joor Rd will be closed between Hooper Rd and Lovett Rd for the parade and fun run starting around 9:15 a.m.  The fun run starts at 9:30 a.m., and the parade starts at 10 a.m.
Louisiana Revised Statute 32:296 states, “No person shall stop, park, or leave standing any unattended vehicle on any state highway shoulder, unless such stopping, parking, or standing is made necessary by an emergency.”   Anyone parking a vehicle on the shoulder of Joor Rd will be subject to a citation and having the vehicle towed.  The EBR Sheriff’s Office and Central Police will monitor the roadway Friday evening and Saturday morning to make sure no vehicles are parked on the shoulder.
