Storm Debris Pickup Update

    Important information about the cleanup after Isaac: the State is nearing completion of debris pickup on State Highways, which includes Joor, Hooper, Sullivan & Greenwell Springs.  EBR Parish has not yet begun pickup on Parish roads in Central such as Comite, Dyer, Sullivan south of Wax and Joor north of Hooper.  The City of Central has contracted debris pickup on all roads maintained by Central and that process is expected to be completed by this weekend.  Call City hall at 261-5255 if debris pickup at your property was missed.
    A reminder: If you pay a professional tree service to cut trees on your property, even if they were storm-damaged, the removal of the trees from your property is the responsibility of the tree service.  The City, Parish & State will not haul off that debris.  If a tree service tells you that the storm or your location makes you an exception to this rule, do not believe them.  Call City Hall at 261-5255 to report the incident.
