July Building Permits Summary

            Building permits slowed during the month of July 2012 in the city of Central with a total of 7 new residential permits being issued.  The total valuation of these permits was $1,622,356. 

            Within these permits, two were issued in Village Lakes with an average valuation of $218,852; two in Burlington Lakes valued at $172,315; one in Wisteria Lakes valued at $317,968; one in Village at Magnolia Square valued at $247,570; and one on Pinewood Drive valued at $274,484.  A total of 90 new residential home permits have been issued so far this year. 

            Building valuation is the price based upon the square footage of the home used for permitting purposes.  The actual selling price of the home is usually higher than the valuation and depends upon amenities installed by the builder.

            On the commercial side in July, permits were applied for the following businesses:

            1)  Starkey Builders, 10510 Joor Rd,  8,025 square feet, remodel

            2)  Property One, 14455 Greenwell Springs Rd, Ste A, B, & C, remodel-fire damage

            3)  Dollar General, 16888 Liberty Rd, 9,100 sq. ft new building

            4)  Persnickety, 14790 Wax Rd,  new tenant location

            5)  Café Phonecia, 14300 Wax Rd,  3,949 sq. feet, new restaurant

            6)  Alexandra’s Dress Shop, 14790 Wax Rd, Ste 109, 1,400 sq. feet, new tenant location

            7)  Johnny’s Pizza, 14790 Wax Rd, Ste 112,  2,800 sq feet, new restaurant.
