Voice of the LSU Tigers and Louisiana Chemical Association (LCA) President Dan Borne’ will be the featured guest speaker for the May 16 Membership Meeting of the Republican Women of Central. Rhett Davis of the LAGOP will also be addressing the club.
Borne’ has worn many hats in leadership roles around the state in broadcasting, governmental issues and industry, the most powerful as he represents four organizations of 60 chemical manufacturers with 100 locations within the state.
He is a champion of grassroots efforts, and has lobbied for the chemical industry vigorously, saying Louisiana is at disadvantage compared to other states due to natural gas and chemical taxes.
According to Borne’, our state lost 10,000-12,000 chemical employees in the past 10 years, 99% of which were due to shale gas production jobs elsewhere.
The meeting will be held at Kristenwood in Central. Doors open at 11a.m. for socializing and networking, and meeting will begin promptly at 11:45a.m. until 1p.m.  The public is invited to attend. RWC members cost for meeting including lunch is $15.00. Non-members and guests cost for attending the meeting including lunch is $20.00.
Please RSVP via email to [email protected] or call (225)333-0018.  For information on membership, future events, sponsorship and to volunteer, please email, or message the group on Facebook.  RWC’s website address is www.LFRW.org/RepublicanWomenofCentral.
