Building permits remained on pace in the month of April 2012 in the city of Central with a total of 12 new residential permits being issued.  The total valuation of these permits was $2,273,088.00.
Within these permits, three were issued in Village Lakes with an average valuation of $263,048; two in Burlington Lakes valued at an average of $169,411; three in Cedar Mill Run with an average valuation of $119,100; two in Woodstock valued at an average of $192,999; one in Wisteria Lakes valued at $203,308; and one on a private parcel of land valued at $198,516.   A total of 57 new residential home permits have been issued so far this year.
Building valuation is the price based upon the square footage of the home used for permitting purposes.  The actual selling price of the home is usually higher than the valuation and depends upon amenities installed by the builder.
On the commercial side, five new permits were issued in April.  Snap Fitness on Magnolia Bridge Rd is adding 1,000 sq ft to their existing space.  Greenwell Springs Baptist Church is adding a 1200 square foot accessory structure.  Health Quest Physical Therapy is remodeling existing space.  A new snowball stand is going in at 13421 Hooper Rd next to Circle K, and Olinde’s Sleep Shop is remodeling the old Blockbuster site in front of Walmart for their new location.
The total commercial permit valuation for these projects is $141,000, excluding the Olinde’s location which is up for bid.
