Central opened last week with a game against Zachary. The Wildcats struck first with a 3 RBI double by Dylan Cormier in the first inning. Central added two more in the third to open up a 5-1 lead. Zachary scored seven in the top of the fourth to take a lead they would never relinquish. Brett Courville went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Corey Davis went 2 for 3. The Broncos ended up winning 12-6. The Wildcats took on Walker on Thursday. Central broke into the scoring column in the second with an RBI walk in the second, and a two-RBI single by Corey Davis. In the fifth inning, trailing 4-3, Mason Gautreaux hit a grand slam to put the Central Wildcats on top. Corey Davis also had two hits and an RBI. Walker scored seven runs in the final two innings to propel them to an 11-9 victory.
On Saturday, Central played Denham Springs and got all of their runs in the second inning. Antonio Ragusa hit a grand slam to give the Wildcats a 4-1 lead. Micah Jones went two for three, and Preston Fondren pitched a solid 5 and 2/3 innings. Denham scored six runs in the fifth and sixth innings and won by the score of 7-4. Tuesday, the Wildcats closed a tough week with a victory over a much-improved Scotlandville team. After going down 4-0 early, Central scored four in the fourth on RBI hits from Thomas Eddlemon and Brett Courville. They added five more in the fifth on hits from Courville, Micah Jones, and Trey Blalock. Brodie Browning got the win pitching four innings of relief.
The Wildcats play their final game on Thursday at home against Live Oak. It is Senior Day, as the Wildcat seniors will be honored on the field before the game.
