Wildcat Bowling Heads to Playoffs this Monday

By  |

After starting the season 0-4, the Central High Bowling Team geared up for an amazing 8-game winning streak, putting them third in the 5A District and earning them a spot in the playoffs.  The #7 Seed Wildcats will bowl against The Runnels School in Round 1 this Monday, March 26 at 1:15 PM at All Star Lanes.  Central is favored to win the match, but they would love our community’s support at the game.  Should the Wildcats win in Round 1, they will advance to Round 2 of the playoffs, which will begin at 3:15 PM, also at All Star Lanes.  Central will face the winner of Catholic High’s Round 1 game.  Catholic is seeded at #2, so chances look good for a Central-Catholic rematch.  Central gave Catholic their only loss of the season, so that would be a great game to watch.
If the Wildcats win their games in Round 1 and Round 2, they will move on to the next week of the playoffs.  Should they lose in Round 2, Central will bowl on Tuesday in the Loser’s Bracket and will fight for their chance to advance to the next week.
Central finished with an 8 match winning streak this season by easily defeating Woodlawn (2-10) and Baton Rouge High (1-11) in their last two matches.  Both scores were 25-2.  New Central High Bowling records set by this year's squad include:  Longest Winning Streak – Currently at 8;  Most Wins In A Season – 8;  Team High Series – 3114;  High Boys Average – Jacob Garretson (1st) – 189.00 & Bryan Waites (2nd) – 183.88.
