The Istrouma Area Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) will host its annual event, “A Night of Character”, on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at LSU Rural Life Museum located at 4560 Essen Lane in Baton Rouge.
“A Night of Character”, in its fourth year, will include a silent and live auction, dinner and drinks, and musical entertainment by the Swamp Pop and Cajun band, Tout Les Soir. The silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. The live auction will be held at 8:00 p.m. after a short program.  New to this year’s event is a raffle that will include items from featured local businesses plus additional fun and games.
This event benefits many programs of BSA including the Wrangler program which offers youth the opportunity to ride and learn to care for horses and the non-traditional Scout program sponsored by the East Baton Rouge Housing Authority in partnership with the Baton Rouge City Police Department.
“A Night of Character” tickets are available now for pre-sale at $75 per person. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Christi Domingue-Rangel, the Scout office or online at www.myistrouma.com.  Table sponsorships beginning at $500 are also available. Only 250 tickets will be sold.
