The Tunica District of the Boy Scouts of America will hold Scout Day in Central on August 27th from 2-5 PM at Cornerstone Fellowship Church on Blackwater Road. Scout Day in Central will consist of demonstrations, displays, and activities coordinated by Boy Scout troops and Cub Scout packs from all over the district which includes Central, Livingston, and Baton Rouge. Activities scheduled include a tomahawk throw, Indian dancing, monkey bridge, and a 30 foot teepee.

This event is geared to anyone interested in what Scouting is by immersing participants in Scouting activities. Anyone considering joining the Scout program is encouraged to attend. Rhonda Smith, Tunica District Executive, shares, "Scouting is alive and well. Through a focus group in Central, we discovered that some do not fully understand what Scouting is about. Scout Day in Central was born!"
