St. Alphonsus Collecting Care Packages for Soldiers

    Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana are preparing to send more care packages to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Please check the list below for items needed. These items may be brought to all the weekend Masses at St. Alphonsus on November 13th and 14th or dropped off at the church office at any time.  Items Needed (Small sizes only to fit in shoe boxes)

Lip Balm, Mouth Wash, Toothpaste, Soap, Shaving Cream, Anti-Itch Ointment, Deodorant (non aerosol), Razors, Medicated Foot powder, Fruit Roll Ups, Energy Bars, Granola Bars, Trail Mix, Powder Drink Mix, Canned Chicken, Canned Tuna, Easy Open Fruit Cups, Slim Jims, Rice Krispy Treats, Hot Chocolate, Coffee, Tea, Coffee Creamer, Hand Sanitizer, Sunscreen (tube), Hand Warmers, Feminine Hygiene Products, Baby Wipes, Eye drops, Eye glass wipes

One Chaplain from Camp Taji Iraq wrote the Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana: “Thank you for all that you have done for the soldiers and sailors here…..Your care packages have helped over 10,865 soldiers and sailors on this deployment feel the comforts of home while they struggled with the heat and rain. They are taken back at how gracious people back home have been…so keep up the good work.”
