PROGRESS REPORTS:  Progress Reports were issued Thursday, September 30th.  If you would like to make a parent-teacher conference you may call the counseling office at 261-3804.

FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCE NEWS:  Thanks to all the parents that came to class and helped Mrs. Gardner get started with sewing projects.  Parents are invited to help chaperone our field trip.  Students will be touring the West Baton Rouge Museum and experience open hearth cooking and butter churning.  Seventh grade will go Thursday, October 28th and Eighth grade will go Friday, October 29th.  Mr. Glover and his staff from the Central Fire Department will come to school to talk about fire safety on October 11th and 12th.

FOOD DRIVE:  The Student Council will be sponsoring a food drive in October.

BETA CLUB NEWS:  Monday, October 18th  – Friday, Oct. 22nd the Beta Club is sponsoring Red Ribbon Week.  Dress Days are as follows:  Monday- “You’re  Crazy to Do Drugs Day”- Students wear their hair in a crazy fashion.  Regular uniforms must be worn. (No wigs);  Tuesday- “Black Out Drugs”-Students wear their black spirit/Central Shirts or plain black shirt.  This will be a home game for CMS Football.;  Wednesday-  “Sock it to Drugs Day”- Students will wear crazy socks to school. The rest of the uniform will remain the same.;  Thursday- “Be a JEAN-ius – Say No to Drugs”- Students will wear blue jeans with their uniform shirt. The shirt must be tucked in at all times.;  Friday-“Show your Spirit for your favorite team Day”- Students can wear any shirt that specifically denotes a name of a team. Uniform bottoms must be worn, and shirts must be tucked in with a belt.

October 25-29:Beta Club Sponsors a Paper Pumpkin Sale for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Paper Pumpkins will be sold through home room classes, $1 each.  There will be a penny drive in the cafeteria to vote on the best carved pumpkin.  Pennies collected will also go to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Last year CMS raised over $2000.  Let’s top that!

YEARBOOK SALE:  Sale in cafeteria only before school 10/13th 10/15 for $25.
