Walmart, Sams Club and the Walmart Foundation recently joined together to launch Teacher Rewards, a new program that is providing more than $4 million to 40,000 deserving teachers across the U.S. Participating Wal-Mart stores across the nation chose one local kindergarten through eighth grade school to take part. Tanglewood Elementary School was chosen by Wal-Mart in Central to be the recipient of this years’ Teacher Rewards program. This program was established to offset rising expenses for classroom supplies. Representatives from the Central Wal-Mart were on hand Wednesday afternoon at a school faculty meeting to present ten randomly selected teachers with $100.00 gift cards. The gift cards may be used to purchase classroom supplies from a Walmart store, Sams Club or online at walmart.com or samsclub.com. The Central Wal-Mart also provided refreshments for the meeting celebrating the event.
