The City of Central was recognized last month by the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA).  On August 7th, the LMA hosted its annual banquet, where cities around the state were recognized for outstanding achievements in various areas through the announcement of the Community Achievement Award winners.  Although Central is still a young city, our community was recognized by the Association.  The City of Central received an honorable mention in the category of Economic Development.  According to the LMA, the honorable mention was bestowed “for establishment of The Central Economic Foundation, Inc., to develop strategies to increase municipal revenues for city operations and services.”  Thank you to the community members who have worked to make Central’s economic development competitive with the best in the state.
