EBRSO D.A.R.E. Officer Involved in Accident Monday Night

On June 21,2010 at approximately 10:00 p.m. An EBRSO D.A.R.E. Deputy was driving his EBRSO unit northbound Joor Road when another vehicle, traveling southbound, crossed over the center line into the northbound lane and hit the deputy's vehicle head on while crossing the Comite River bridge.
The driver, Jacob L. Rester, 29, of 23316 Elberta Lane Zachary, failed a field sobriety exam. Results are pending of a urinalysis from the LSP crime lab. Rester was booked for DWI and Careless Operation of a Vehicle.
Rester refused EMS, and the deputy received a possible fracture to his hand.
