Local Resident 1 of 4 Nationally to Participate in D.C. Ceremony

SFC Larry Jester was one of four to present the wreath at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC to the Tombs of the Unknown Soldier. SFC. Larry Jester, a Central Resident and a full time soldier in the Louisiana Army National Guard, received the Valley Forge Cross for Heroism and the Louisiana Cross of Merit with Valor for saving a man’s life and subsequently others lives as well. The other three involved in the ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns were Vietnam veteran Jim Penseyres, Navy Cross recipient Jeremiah Workman, and Justin Minyard who was a tomb guard and was part of the first responders to the Pentagon on 9-11.
