Central Private School is gearing up for their 2nd annual Dream Fest, being held this weekend, May 21st and 22nd.  The family-oriented, community wide event kicks off with a Raffle Dinner and Live Auction on May 20th at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets for this event, to be held in the gymnasium, are $100.00 each and include 2 ribeye steak dinners and entry into the live auction.  A competition is being held amongst the alumni, with whichever year selling the most tickets winning.  The Grand Prize is $10,000, First Prize is $1000, and 5 ticket holders will win $100 each.  Only 300 tickets will be sold.  Sammy’s Restaurant will be catering.  There will be live music.  Email [email protected] for more information. 

May 21 the Festival opens with food, rides, games, a dunking booth, vendors, raffles and FREE concerts!  At 6:00 p.m. Will Rayburn, a Christian Rock guitarist, will be playing in an outdoor concert.  An alumni basketball tournament will begin, to be continued on Saturday.  Vendors will be selling a variety of goods such as bird houses, purses, candles, jewelry, monogramming and children’s clothing.  A hair salon will be onsite offering hair styling.  May 22 continues with the same and more fun with alumni basketball and baseball tournaments. 2 concerts will be held: The Chris Leblanc Band (www.chrisleblancband.com) will be playing at 2:00, and Jeremy Breeden and Friends will be playing at 6:00. The Chris Leblanc Band, a Southern blues rock band, was voted “Best Original Music” and “Best Singer” by 225 Magazine. Jeremy Breeden is the former lead vocalist for Southern Pride Band and Heavy Grain Band.  Food available will include boiled crawfish, hamburgers, hot dogs, jambalaya, funnel cakes, Italian ice, nachos and more.  The Raffles will include a chance at 2 tickets to Bayou Fest.  Advance sales tickets are available for the boiled crawfish and offered for a discount on rides.  Ride tickets will be sold in advance for $1.00 each, kiddie rides are 1 ticket, large rides are 2.  All tickets can be purchased up to the time of the Festival at the school office, call 261-3341 to purchase.
