Parade of Homes Organizers Offer Realtor Bus Tour 5/21
Area realtors can participate in a customized bus tour of this year’s Parade of Homes on May 21, offering a unique opportunity to them and their clients to view the amenities featured in this year’s showcase of more than 50 new homes in the Greater Baton Rouge Metropolitan area.
Michelle Guidry, chairperson of the Capital Region Builders Association’s Sales & Marketing Committee, said the bus tour will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on that day. Realtors can select one of three tours – one tour will include 14 homes in the Baton Rouge area; a second will tour 19 homes in Ascension Parish; and a third bus will tour the 17 homes in Zachary, Central and Livingston Parish.
This year’s Parade of Homes, which is sponsored by the Capital Region Builders Association (CRBA), features a total of 52 new homes throughout the seven-parish region, ranging in price from $120,000 to more than $900,000. The tour is free and open to the public on May 15 – 16 and May 22 – 23, and homes are open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“This one-day, escorted viewing of the homes will allow our licensed realtors to have special access to the homes so they can view them for their clients and seek the answers they may need to know,” Guidry said. “We also plan to post the names of the participating realtors on our website, so potential buyers can know whom to contact to ask questions or to pursue buying interests.”
Guidry also said the participating realtors will serve as judges of the homes they tour. They will be asked to score each of the homes for awards in three categories – best kitchen design, best floor plan and best curb appeal. Each bus will award a prize in each of the three categories. At the end of the day, the realtors from all three tours groups will jointly select an overall winner in this year’s show.
“This is our first year to offer this special service to our realtors and to include their input in our showcase. We believe this will be a tremendous benefit to everyone involved,” Guidry said.
