CPS Fellowship of Christian Students

By  |

Members of the CPS Fellowship of Christian Students spend each year raising money for ministry opportunities.  Past activities have included supporting students going on summer mission trips and international relief projects.  This year, the club members chose to use the money to help a local ministry, Sellers Maternity Ministry.  Sellers Maternity Ministry, located on Denham Road in Central, is a division of the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home & Family Ministries in Monroe, LA.  Sellers is a residential program that works to provide medical care, counseling, and education for unwed mothers-to-be under the age of 21.

Club members held on-campus bake sales every 2 to 3 weeks in order to raise money. They also sold Turkey-Grams (Ziploc bags of candy with a message written on a paper turkey) in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving.  Through their fundraising efforts, the club members were able to present Brent and Sarah Ryland, Sellers house parents, with a check for $1,100.
