Cookin’ in Central Wrap Up

By  |

The totals for Cooking in Central were announced today at a general meeting of those volunteers involved. Almost 50 people attended the meeting at Elegant Memories. Chairman Louis DeJohn announced that $195,000 was raised this year, which is just below the goal of $200,000.  Several committee groups were established at the meeting to help plan for next year’s big event.  Suggestions received from people at the event were also discussed in order to make next year’s event even better.

For more great news, Pastor Bill Parsons announced that Central Worship Center will be relocating and building on 19 acres on Blackwater Rd, and he has offered part of that property as a home for Cooking in Central for the next several years. Some of the money raised from this year's event was going to go towards the purchase of property for a permanent home for Cooking in Central. Thanks to Central Worship Center, this money can now go to the schools to spend.
