Weekly Chamber Update

By  |

In the weekly Chamber of Commerce newsletter, Chamber President Ron Erickson writes, "What a fantastic weekend!  A special thanks goes out to all those who helped to make Cooking in Central such a successful event!  It was so exciting to see so many people coming out and being apart of this weekend's activities.  A highlight for me was when we stopped to take time to dedicate a tree, that will be planted at Magnolia Square, in memory of Jackie Brewer.  Thanks to the committee for all the efforts you put forth to make Cooking in Central possible.  Events such as this weekend, help to remind us why Central is such a special place to live!"

This information came from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  I thought you might find it informative.
Consumer Financial Protection Agency Act (CFPA)
H.R. 3162
The bill will create an entirely new federal agency, the CFPA, consolidating the consumer protection mandates of the federal financial regulators. The authority of the agency however, will extend far beyond traditional financial services products to the entire economy. In short, it creates a new regulatory overlay over the entire business community.
