Mailboxes- Did You Know?

By  |

Beginning in 2009, the following guidelines apply to all new mailboxes in the City of Central:

All mailboxes along a street or highway must be located on one side of the street only.

All mailboxes must be put on or adjacent to the property line between residences. No mailboxes should be put directly in front of residences.

All mailboxes must be in groups of four or less.

Correct addresses must be displayed on each mailbox with house numbers on the boxes being no less than 3 inches tall.

All mailboxes must have impact break-away supports. No mailbox may have concrete or brick support columns.

For new subdivisions and business developments, it is preferable that the single-location cluster mailbox concept be implemented.
