Wildcat Football Passes Up Capital High

By  |

It was a rainy and cold night at Wildcat Stadium when you would only find die-hard fans and parents in the stands.  Still, the stands were respectably filled and the team played respectably well.  Capital came in ranked #3 in the state in division 2A with a number of Division 1 prospects on the roster.  The 32-20 Central lead at the half was evidence that Capital fields a strong team and runs the ball well.  This was a good tune-up and test for a Wildcat team that has seen little resistance from within the district.

Central prevailed by a score of 39-20, primarily on a strong passing game.  The Cats aired the ball out for 296 yards on a 12 for 19 performance by Briscoe and a single Cutnoe pass to Wes Briscoe that went 80 yards on Central’s first play from scrimmage.  In all, Central rolled up 427 total yards of offense on “Senior Night” which saw all of the graduating seniors participating in various Fall extra-cirricular activities honored.

Plan on traveling to Live Oak next Friday as Central plays its last regular season game of the year.
