Central Celebrates the Life of Whitney Taylor

By  |

Whitney Taylor, 25 year old daughter of Paul and Rhonda Taylor (Principal of Central Intermediate) and sister of Travis, passed away Tuesday morning at home surrounded by loved ones.

In her memory as an avid CHS football fan, a Scholarship fund will be set up for a Central High football player (based on need, quality of effort, leadership and team spirit).  Whitney’s parents believe that Whitney would have “loved” to honor a CHS football player.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate to this scholarship fund or to Gideon International.  Make checks for the football scholarship fund to the Whitney Taylor Scholarship Fund – the Central Community School System Central Office and Central High School will collect donations to set up the scholarship in Whitney’s memory.

Arrangements are:  Visitation Wednesday, September 02, 2009 at Zoar Baptist (5-9pm), funeral Thursday at Zoar Baptist (7 pm with visitation from 5 pm until service), and graveside service Friday (10 am) at Zoar Baptist cemetery.

Mr. Faulk offered to dismiss school in honor of Whitney.  However, Mrs. Taylor was adamant that we continue to put the students and their needs first and to provide the continuity of their daily routine.  With that in mind, we ask everyone to select either Wednesday, Thursday, or both days, to share your respects and to be in attendance at school on Friday.
