CP Baseball vs Brookhaven Academy

The Central Private Rebels continued their early season success with a 13-2 victory over Brookhaven Academy in Brookhaven, Ms.on Thursday night 03/06/2009.
Superb pitching by the Rebels kept Brookhaven at bay until the Rebels could explode for nine runs in the final to innings to push their season record to 8-0.
Senior Taylor Ort pitched the first 4 1/3 innings without giving up a run. Ort allowed 2 hits striking out 7. Thomas Bourgeois finished the fifth inning on the mound for Central Private and Gage Wilkinson gave up only one walk in the fnal two innings for the Rebels.
Although the game was in doubt until the final innings, Central Private was able to go ahead in the top of the first inning. Senior outfielder Jacob Fryoux stayed red hot at the plate with at bats. His first double go the Rebels scoring started as hew was able to score on a stolen base. Travis Rose and Chase Metz started the second inning for the Rebels by reaching base after being hit by pitches. They both scored on Fryoux’s second double of the game. Central Private added another run in the 4th inning with an rbi single by Gage Wilkinson scored Ridege Perkins who singles to start the inning.
With a 4 run inning in the 6th the Rebels were able to get a little breathing room. Freshman Seth Stevens began, the inning with a blast that hit the left field fence and left Stevens standings on second.
He would later score along with Wilkinson on Fryoux’s third double of the evening. Bourgeois was then hit by a pitch and driven home on a single by Rose.
Brookhaven’s Cougars scored in the bottom of the sixth as Jeremy Foster doubled to center field which drove Tyler Corbin home. Foster added the final run for the Cougars after an errant throw. In the top of the seventh the Rebels scored 5 more runs to end all doubt. Ort, Wilkinson, Fryoux and Bourgeois all reached base on walks and went on to score. A double by catcher Brennan Courville drove two of those runs home. He would score after a wild pitch and sacrifice fly by Logan Lewis.
Wilkinson struck out the side in the seventh to keep the Rebels unbeaten. They return to action with a double header on the 9th of March against Oak Forest at Rebel Field. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:00.
