City Council Approves Reserve Police Officers & Delays Bellingrath Expansion
The Central City Council met Tuesday evening and gave approval for five Central residents with law enforcement experience to become reserve police officers working for Doug Browning as Central Police officers. They donate their time but have all of the authority of any full time officer. Our new officers are Jeff Behrnes, Gene Cobb, Shane Evans, Gene Hebert & Gordon Hutchinson.
There was then an extensive discussion regarding another filing to build houses in Bellingrath. The contentious issue was the concept of a street proposed to join the new development with Bellingrath Lakes. Ultimately, the Council sent the zoning request back to the developer to regroup and come up with an alternate request.
