Elected School Board Holds First Meeting

By  |

The newly elected school board members of the Central Community School System held their first meeting this Monday evening at Kristenwood.  The board elected Sharon Browning as the new President and Dr. Jim Gardner was elected Vice President.

Superintendent Faulk advised that money has been shifted to allow for the hire of a new school nurse. This is greatly needed as there are currently only two nurses for 3,600 children.  This was moved and approved by a vote of 6-1 with Ruby Foil dissenting.

The Vice President from First Student, the company who provides bus transportation for the school system, was in attendance and was given a list of questions and concerns.  These issues will be addressed at the next schol board meeting.
