LLOYD QUESTION 1:

What are the roles and responsibilities of the school board?

GOUDEAU RESPONSE:

    To set policies and procedures and support the superintendent. I also feel we are unique here in Central  and that our school board should be here to serve the public and children as well as the teachers. The school board should be a listener as well as a provider for our people. When faced with decisions on procedures and policies, each school board member must independently determine what is in their heart, as well as their head, and vote that way remembering that the outcome should benefit our ultimate goal, which is to help ready our children for future challenges.

 

LLOYD QUESTION 2:

What education and professional leadership experience uniquely qualifies you to effectively fulfill these roles and responsibilities?

GOUDEAU RESPONSE:

    I am uniquely qualified because education and professional leadership are a misnomer in this election. Leadership should be the main determination.   You do not have to hold office, be a CEO or have a degree, to lead. My education and leadership have come through hard blue collar work, leading with my heart. I represent the unique spirit of the Central Community. My education and leadership consists of years of proven service, hard work and dedication to this school system. You can learn much when you are actively and engaged in the process. I can say I truly represent my constituents.

 

GOUDEAU QUESTION 1:

If Central’s public schools are not good enough for your children to attend, why should parents vote for you?

GOUDEAU RESPONSE 1:

    My children do attend Central’s public schools

 

GOUDEAU QUESTION 2:

Are voters supposed to believe you will serve Central’s public school children if your children do not attend our schools?

GOUDEAU RESPONSE:

    Voters can believe in me because I do have my children attending Central’s public schools

GOUDEAU QUESTION 1:

If Central’s public schools are not good enough for your children to attend, why should parents  vote for you?

LLOYD RESPONSE:

    The first part of this question shows a faulty assumption that I think Central’s schools are not good enough for my children.  There are many reasons I have led my family in homeschooling these past seventeen years.  These are documented on my website www.4centralskids.wordpress.com .  The truth is that my decision to homeschool had everything to do with the fact that my wife and I felt called by God and very little to do with public or private school options.

 

GOUDEAU QUESTION 2:

Are voters supposed to believe you will serve Central’s public school children if your children do not attend our schools?

LLOYD RESPONSE:

    Like the faculty, coaches and school board members who don’t have children in our school system, I will serve with integrity.  Since I don’t have any special interest issues and I won’t be paid,  I trust that citizens are able to discern that I have no ulterior motives.  I desire to invest my experience in a  positive way, assisting in laying the proper foundation, vision, mission and goals, so that we may continue on the path toward academic excellence.  Many school systems are suffering from the unintended consequences of poor decisions made decades ago.  It’s important to ALL voters that we get this right.

What are the roles and responsibilities of the school board?

LLOYD RESPONSE:

  • Approve budgets
  • Adopt personnel policies
  • Adopt staff development and assignment policy
  • Make decisions of Hiring/Firing teachers & principals
  • Evaluate the superintendant
  • Serve as a ambassador of the school system
  • Serve as a consultant and advisor on education & business decisions
  • Understand the need for school system goals
  • Actively support the superintendant
  • Understand the difference between governing & managing
  • Work only toward those decisions and solutions that are in the school systems best interest.

 

LLOYD QUESTION 2:

What education and professional leadership experience uniquely qualifies you to effectively fulfill these roles and responsibilities?

LLOYD RESPONSE:

  • Created a business plan for two start-up companies
  • Created policy and procedures for businesses and organizations
  • Served on several boards including President of CHEF of Baton Rouge
  • Created and manage multi-million dollar budgets
  • Negotiated Large  contracts
  • Human Resource Management
  • Asset and Cash Flow Management
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Continued Education Instructor for the architect and design community
  • Facilitated curriculum fairs and state wide educational conventions and conferences

Central needs trusted advisors that have a diversified and accomplished level of experience in education and business operations.  It is the largest business in our community and can require complex decisions.
