Community Yard Sale to Benefit Cancer Patient

Bobby is a thirty one year old native of the Baker/Zachary area. He is married and has a one year old daughter. He was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2009. Despite multiple surgeries and aggressive treatments, the cancer has since spread to his liver, should, lungs, pancreas and lymph nodes. He recently went to MD Anderson to see if he would qualify for any experimental therapy as the doctors here can no longer do anything for him. Bobby learned this week he has been accepted into a trial at MD Anderson.

A community wide yard sale has been organized by friends and family. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Bobby. The yard sale will be held Saturday, September 18th at The Rock Church gymnasium from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Rock Church is located at 20810 Plank Road in Zachary. Among the items donated for sale are clothes of all sizes, furniture, toys, movies, books, home decor, a lawnmower and many miscellaneous items. Jambalaya plates will be sold for $6.00.
