CIS Students Collect Tabs for Good Cause

By  |

Central Intermediate School students have been hard at work collecting pull tabs from soda cans.  These tabs are being collected in partnership with the 4H Club to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.  The house was created so that the families of children in the hospital have a place to stay.  The students had a challenge of collecting 100 pounds of tiny pull tabs with the promise of a reward if they achieved their goal.  They went far above their goal, collecting over 170 pounds of pull tabs as of last week.  As a reward, the students got a special visit from two chickens and Superintendent Mike Faulk.  Mr. Faulk had to kiss one of the chickens in front of the whole student body, as did Mr. David and Assistant Principal Mr. O'Banion.  After much loud cheering and chanting from the students, Mrs. Taylor, Principal at CIS, granted their wish and also kissed both of the chickens.  Thank you to the CIS students for working hard to help the Ronald McDonald House and the families of sick children.
