Cookin’ in Central a Success!

Cookin' in Central this past weekend was a great success.  There was a good turnout on Friday night for the crawfish boil, and a huge crowd came to Magnolia Square on Saturday for the festivities.  Silent and live auctions raised lots of funds, including over $3,000 that came from a progressive auction for a wooden swing made by the Central High wood shop.  There were games and activities for the kids, as well.  The dunking booth was a favorite, even more so when School Superintendent Mike Faulk climbed in.  The food was fantastic, with jambalaya, pork, brisket, chicken, turkey, and beans cooked by volunteer chefs from all over Central.  There was no shortage of entertainment for the crowd either, as many groups worked hard to prepare performances.  Among the performers were Teri's Legworks Dance Studio, Carrie's 5-6-7-8 Dance Studio, elementary school students, the CHS Kittens, and the CHS Jazz Band.  Thank you to everyone who donated time and effort and to everyone who came out for the fun(d) raising!  This event was definitely an example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together for a good cause.
