Mid City Micro-Con Saturday
The Main Library on Goodwood is hosting the FREE Mid City Micro-Con this Saturday, February 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is the EBRPL’s first comic convention. Celebrate diversity in comic book characters, creators, and fans as EBRPL highlights a range of voices in comics and fandom through discussion panels, presentations, and art & comics market, cosplay, workshops, and film screenings. More than 20 comic and cosplay industry creators and influencers, including several who have worked with Marvel and DC Comics, will participate in the arts & comics market, panels, and presentations. Featured guests Marcus Williams and Greg Burnham will discuss their comic book series Tuskegee Heirs and participate in the keynote panel, “Diversity in Comics: Why We Need Wakanda.” Williams will also teach an art workshop with limited space, so arrive early to sign up. There will also be free board game play with demo games provided by local shop Little Wars. Library-appropriate costumes are welcome and encouraged at Mid City Micro-Con.
