Tailgating in the Pasture Next Saturday: Updated Schedule

The time has come for Tailgating in the Pasture! Put on by Cooking in Central, this event is a fun family day and community fundraiser. Come out to “Amazing Place” at 10305 Blackwater Road in Central beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 7. Highlights of the day will include the LSU/Florida football game under the pavilion on the big screen, lots of food and live music, craft items for sale, and plenty of kids’ activities. A pumpkin decorating contest has now been added for the kids. See more details on that, as well as a full updated schedule of events, below. Please note that the price for vendor/craft booths has been changed to $50 since our last publication. That form is in this week's Central Speaks newspaper.
Admission to Tailgating in the Pasture is $5 per person. Purchase tickets in advance at http://www.tailgatinginthepasture.com/ticket-info.html, or at the gate on the day of the event. Lawn chairs and ice chests are welcome, and RV spots and 10×10 tent spaces are available for $100 and $25 each, respectively.

Kids IDs by Clerk of Court’s office (10 AM – 5 PM)
11 AM: Sack Race
12 PM: Hula Hoop Contest
12:30 PM: Parish County Line (12:30 PM – 2:30 PM)
2 PM: LSU vs Florida (2:30 PM – 5:30 PM) ON THE BIG SCREEN UNDER THE PAVILION
BR Zoo reptile exhibit (2 PM – 4 PM)
CFD Smoke House (2 PM – 7 PM)
3 PM: Waddill Wildlife Education Center BB Gun Trailer (3PM -7PM)

KIDS' PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST
Information & Contest Rules:
The contest will be held in conjunction with Tailgating in the Pasture on Saturday, October 7. BYOP (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) and supplies, or decorate at home and bring it to the event.
1. Location: “Amazing Place” 13050 Blackwater Road, Central, Louisiana, 70714
2. No Entry Fee –It’s Free!
3. Time: Contest open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m.
4. Each participant must fill out a Registration Form between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7th.
5. Pumpkins will be assigned a number when registered. Do not put your name on the pumpkin.
6. Judging categories: Funniest, Scariest, Creative, Prettiest, Unusual, Carved, Best in the Show
7. Two categories: 7 years old and under, and 8 years to 12 years old
8. Once Registered, pumpkins cannot be reclaimed until the completion of the contest.
9. Entries will be display during the event.
10. Awards: Winners will be determined by People’s Choice by making monetary donations to their favorite pumpkins. Ribbons and gift cards will be given as awards.
11. Pumpkins may be brought already decorated, or kids can decorate them at the event.
12. Permitted decorations include carving, paint, glitter, drawings, paper, or materials of any kind, which can be pinned or glued on pumpkins.
13. All entries must be family friendly and community oriented.
14. Any pumpkins that are not picked up by the end of the event will be thrown away.
