Riley Duncan Takes 11 Point Buck in Mississippi Youth Hunt
9 year old Riley Duncan is a 4th grade student at Central Intermediate School. She has grown up around her family's camp in Wilkinson County, Mississippi and started hunting with her grandparents at the age of seven. This fall, they eagerly anticipated the Mississippi youth hunt weekend. During the afternoon hunt on Sunday, November 8, a beautiful 11 point buck stepped into Riley's food plot. Riley’s grandmother says her heart almost stopped as her husband calmly talked to Riley and told her, "this is certainly a mature deer. You can take him if you would like to." Riley was able to put a perfect shot on the deer. She was so excited when she was able to blood trail him just a little way, and put her hands on him. She proudly took her pictures to school the next day, and needless to say, the deer went straight to the taxidermist!
