Racking up 428 yards of total offense, 325 of those on the ground, Central’s Wildcats ran away from Tara High early and never looked back, improving to 2-1 on the season.
Central carried a 21-0 lead into halftime and exploded for 34 points in the third quarter.  Central’s defense belted the Trojans to 6 points, with Caleb Moore leading all tacklers with eight takedowns, one for a loss. Edgar Janise, Kyle Kepper and Andrew Harris were close behind, getting in on 7 tackles each.
Quarterback Gabe Brown rushed for 86 yards on 7 carries, mostly on well-executed option plays, while running back Xavier Lewis turned in another strong performance carrying 10 times for 122 yards.  Brown completed 7 of 14 for 103 yards, with Joseph Schopp pulling down three receptions for 67 yards and a score.
The Wildcats travel this week to meet a tough St. Charles Catholic in LaPlace.  St. Charles is 3-0 and has allowed opponents only 7 points in three games.  If you can’t make the road trip, tune in to the Central Stat Care broadcast at 6:45 Friday on Radio Amor 91.9 FM.
