2nd Annual Code Red Chili Cook-Off September 26

    Americana, Level Homes, and Lane Regional Medical Center present the first annual Code Red Chili Cook-off on Saturday, September 26th, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., at Americana Development, 4200 Liberty Way in Zachary.  Parking and Admission is FREE!  Chili Tasting, Craft Beer Tasting and Raffle Tickets are $10 each.
    Competition is the name of the game and the chili cook-off will offer individuals, companies and organizations the chance to compete in an exciting and fun environment!   Judges will name the Best Chili champion in both Youth and Adult divisions, and patrons will vote for the People’s Choice award and the Best Team Spirit award. 
    In addition to tasting some world-class chili, activities include:
•    Live Entertainment featuring musical artists The Gillis Silo, West Without, Britton Furlow and Michelle Willis, plus a live remote with WYNK and Sam McGuire.
•    Special Appearances by Venessa The Louisiana Mermaid, Scooby Doo & The Mystery Machine, and Langston Taekwondo Academy;
•    A Kid’s Zone with dunking booth, ring toss, face painting, photo booth, art station, football toss and a cake walk;
•    Refreshments include a craft beer tasting, cold drinks, hot dogs, and nachos; and
•    Raffle Items feature a hand carved red cedar rocking chair donated by Byron Minor ($500 value), chartered fishing trip for 4 including an overnight stay and one day of fishing donated by SeaHagg Charters ($1600 value), set of 4 Uniroyal SUV/light truck tires donated by Superior Ford ($820 value), and diamond necklace and earring set donated by Gary Allen Design ($350 value).
