Central Coaches Pay It Forward

    The football coaches at Central High School have taken a firm and admirable stand in the face the Central School System cutting pay for most of the coaching staff.  Only four coaching positions were spared the pay cut.
    The coaches, in a show of unity among themselves and support for the Central community, have all reduced their pay to the level of the lowest paid coach after the cuts.  The remaining money, almost $4,000, has been given away by the coaches to worthwhile causes and community members facing financial challenges.
    The recipients of the “Pay It Forward” effort included an infant who has undergone several surgeries, a school employee who is having to care for several family members, a student who lost both parents in the last five years, a single mom who has put several children through Central’s schools, and a faithful life-long support staff employee.  In addition, contributions were made to the Needy Student Fund, the Courtesy Fund, and used to purchase Academic Letter Jackets.
    Helmets off to the CHS football coaches for turning an otherwise unpleasant situation into a positive for the Central community by “Paying It Forward” and showing concern for others.
