Parade of Homes This Weekend; Four Central Homes Included in Tour

    Capital Region Builders Association (CRBA) will hold its annual 2015 Parade of Homes with 40 new homes on tour throughout the area during the two weekends of April 25-26 and May 2-3. 
    The tour is free and open to the public with homes open on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  A listing of homes on tour are available at www.crbaparade.com as well as instructions for downloading a mobile phone app that includes descriptions, drawings and driving directions for each of the homes.       
    “This year’s Parade of Homes showcases new homes of all sizes and architectural styles. We know visitors will be keenly interested in the vast array of new products and design ideas,” said CRBA President Robert Carroll. “We encourage the community to tour the homes and to talk with the builders about the homes’ features during the free parade.”  Some of the homes feature outdoor kitchens, pools, and home theatres.
    This year’s parade includes 40 homes, built by 28 builders in 31 subdivisions, including 14 homes in Ascension, 22 in East Baton Rouge, and 4 in Livingston Parish. The homes range in price from $169,900 to $1,200,000. 
    “Now is a great time to purchase a new home,” stated Lynda Evans, CRBA Executive Vice President.  “Interest rates are low and financing is more readily available.  The energy efficiency that comes with the new appliances, windows, heating and cooling units to name a few can actually put you in a new home with monthly payments less than what rental units are going for.”
