“Step Into Style” Features Latest Looks in April 17 Fashion Show Fundraiser

    Lt. Governor and Mrs. Jay Dardenne will be modeling in the celebrity lineup for the “Step Into Style“  2015 Passion for Fashion Show and Gala being held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Kristenwood, located at 14025 Greenwell Springs Road in Central. 
    Over 50 state, local and community leaders will model the latest fashions from 17 retailers including men’s clothiers and women’s and children’s boutiques. A celebrity reception with cash bar and signature cocktails begins at 6 p.m. followed by the runway show, military tribute, and entertainment at 7 p.m. 
    Lamar Advertising has donated digital billboard displays for 4 weeks valued at over $5,000 to the Red Hot Auction, which will also feature many exciting and surprising items for bids. Offerings include portraiture by artist Mia Freneaux, jewelry, designer clothing accessories, sporting goods, gift baskets, home furnishings, and more. Each retailer in the show is also donating a door prize and/or auction item.
    Presented by Republican Women of Central as a fundraiser for an annual college scholarship, dictionary project for all area third graders, literacy initiatives, veterans’ programs, and service to the Central area community, tickets for this evening of fashion and entertainment are almost sold out. The biennial event has exceeded goals in 2011 and 2013.
    "The outpouring of generous support for this event has been tremendous, and very much appreciated," said Betsy Otken Barnes Fashion Show Committee Chairman and Immediate Past President of RWC. 
    She will emcee the show with Kevin Gallagher, popular radio personality and host for Talk107.3FM. Disc jockey for this fashion show is Erik Fairley of E Sounds Entertainment will provide lights, music, and special effects. 
    Salassi Jewelry & Fine Gifts is the 2015 Premier Jewelry Sponsor donating a 14kt white gold gemstone pendant necklace designed by owners Stuart and Renee Salassi just for this RWC's event. Donations are suggested in the amount of $20 or more to the RWC "Step Into Opportunity" College Scholarship Fund, and each donor will receive a ticket for their donation to have a chance to be selected for either the necklace or an extensive wine collection donated by the RWC Fashion Show Committee. Donations can made to any RWC member prior to the show and at retailers where tickets are sold to show:  Ross Tire and Service, Sandra Lynn's Boutique, Bombshell Boutique, Chase Home Health, Salassi Jewelry & Gifts, and via email request to [email protected].

    Sharing the stage with models Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne and wife Cathy Dardenne are State Senator Bodi White, Senator Elbert Guillory, State Representatives Valarie Hodges, EBRP Clerk of Court Doug Welborn, Central Mayor Junior Shelton, and our Central Council Members.  Also modeling are representatives from the Central School Board, Chamber of Commerce, and the Central business community.  Other models include representatives from the offices of our state politicians and beloved community members.
    Artist Brittany Dougherty Fryday, owner of Salon Bella and co-owner of Junk In The Trunk, will be the hairstylist for models with "Younique" Makeup Artist April Dougherty Denham.
    Photographers Eric and Alice Frank will be the official photographers.
