Wildcat Wrestling Wins Several Medals at Tournament
Wildcat Wrestling is a Central area competitive wrestling club for children 5-15 years of age. The club is a feeder club for the Central High School Wrestling program. Under the guidance of the USA Wrestling certified coaches, children learn to handle challenges—both on and off the mat—leaving you amazed at their transformation during the course of a single season. While it improves self-confidence and the belief that anything is possible it also teaches young people to respect themselves and others, promotes excellence, and encourages athletes to set goals. It builds personal accountability because the athlete alone is responsible for the outcome. It develops integrity, discipline, and a strong work ethic—traits that will last a lifetime. The club will be holding a July mini wrestling camp; if interested contact Coach Casey Kirk via email at [email protected] for more information.
The Wildcat Wrestling Club competed in the 2015 LA USAW Kids State Tournament on Saturday March 28th at the Baton Rouge River Center. We would like to recognize the following wrestlers in their outstanding achievement in medaling at the tournament: Caleb Kirk – Bantam Division 40 lbs – 2nd Place, Harold Lawson – Novice Division 105 lbs – 2nd Place, Damian Witty – Novice Division 105 lbs – 2nd Place, Jermaine II Vessell – Novice Division 130 lbs – 3rd Place, Christian Maninno – School Boy Division 175 lbs – 3rd Place.
